Shared Representation of SAR Target and Shadow Based on Multilayer Auto-encoder

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2013
Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image is investigated. A SAR feature extraction algorithm based on multilayer auto-encoder is proposed.

Listening while Speaking: Speech Chain by Deep Learning

open access: yes, 2017
Despite the close relationship between speech perception and production, research in automatic speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech synthesis (TTS) has progressed more or less independently without exerting much mutual influence on each other.

DNN-Based Source Enhancement to Increase Objective Sound Quality Assessment Score [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We propose a training method for deep neural network (DNN)-based source enhancement to increase objective sound quality assessment (OSQA) scores such as the perceptual evaluation of speech quality (PESQ). In many conventional studies, DNNs have been used

Cyclodextrin‐Functionalized Light‐Driven Cu2O Micromotors for Simultaneous Capture and Degradation of Bisphenol A

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Fuel‐free Cu2O‐based micromotors functionalized with β‐cyclodextrin actively remove bisphenol A from water under visible light. The cyclodextrin shell captures BPA and enhances micromotor motility, leading to faster degradation and higher overall removal than nonfunctionalized Cu2O and Cu2O@Au.

A Hybrid Neural Network Framework and Application to Radar Automatic Target Recognition

open access: yes, 2018
Deep neural networks (DNNs) have found applications in diverse signal processing (SP) problems. Most efforts either directly adopt the DNN as a black-box approach to perform certain SP tasks without taking into account of any known properties of the ...

DMAP1 Deficiency Suppresses Lung Cancer Progression by Destabilizing Replication Fork and Activating IFN Signaling‐Mediated Anti‐tumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer‐related death. We investigated the role of the epigenetic regulator DMAP1 in NSCLC and found that its loss induces replication stress and DNA damage. This in turn activates type I IFN signaling via the cGAS–STING pathway and transcriptional ISG de‐repression, enhancing anti‐tumor immune responses ...

Hierarchical Fusion of Convolutional Neural Networks and Attributed Scattering Centers with Application to Robust SAR ATR

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
This paper proposes a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) automatic target recognition (ATR) method via hierarchical fusion of two classification schemes, i.e., convolutional neural networks (CNN) and attributed scattering center (ASC) matching.

Discovery of an Adaptive Neuroimmune Response Driving Itch and Fast Tick Removal with Implications for Preventing Pathogen Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Itch‐induced tick removal (IITR): An acquired neuroimmune mechanism, itch‐induced tick removal, develops after repeated tick exposure, mobilizing T cells and macrophages at the tick bite site to trigger a rapid scratching response that facilitates timely tick removal within a critical window that precedes the transmission of many tick‐borne pathogens ...

Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) from SAR Imaginary by Using Machine Learning Techniques

open access: yes, 2020
Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) in Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images becomes a very challenging problem owing to containing high level noise. In this study, a machine learning-based method is proposed to detect different moving and stationary targets using SAR images.

Buffered Reset Leads to Improved Compression in Fuzzy ARTMAP Classification of Radar Range Profiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Fuzzy ARTMAP has to date been applied to a variety of automatic target recognition tasks, including radar range profile classification. In simulations of this task, it has demonstrated significant compression compared to k-nearest-neighbor classifiers ...
