Summary In this contribution, we propose a detailed study of interpolation‐based data‐driven methods that are of relevance in the model reduction and also in the systems and control communities. The data are given by samples of the transfer function of the underlying (unknown) model, that is, we analyze frequency‐response data.

Automaticity in reading isiZulu
Automaticity, or instant recognition of combinations of letters as units of language, is essential for proficient reading in any language. The article explores automaticity amongst competent adult first-language readers of isiZulu, and the factors ...

Cardiac excitation originates in the sinoatrial node (SAN), due to the automaticity of this distinct region of the heart. SAN automaticity is the result of a gradual depolarisation of the membrane potential in diastole, driven by a coupled system of ...

Background Cardiomyocytes derived from human iPS cells (hiPSCs) include cells showing SAN‐ and non‐SAN‐type spontaneous APs. Objectives To examine whether the deep learning technology could identify hiPSC‐derived SAN‐like cells showing SAN‐type‐APs by ...

Quasi-automatic groups are asynchronously automatic [PDF]
A quasi-automatic semigroup is a finitely generated semigroup with a rational set of representatives such that the graph of right multiplication by any generator is a rational relation. A asynchronously automatic semigroup is a quasi-automatic semigroup for which these rational relations are also recognisable by two-tape automata.

The Perils of Automaticity [PDF]
Classical theories of skill acquisition propose that automatization (i.e., performance requires progressively less attention as experience is acquired) is a defining characteristic of expertise in a variety of domains (e.g., Fitts & Posner, 1967 ).

From automatic structures to automatic groups
In this paper we introduce the concept of a Cayley graph automatic group (CGA group or graph automatic group, for short) which generalizes the standard notion of an automatic group. Like the usual automatic groups graph automatic ones enjoy many nice properties: these groups are invariant under the change of generators, they are closed under direct and
