Surfaceome: a new era in the discovery of immune evasion mechanisms of circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the era of immunotherapies, many patients either do not respond or eventually develop resistance. We propose to pave the way for proteomic analysis of surface‐expressed proteins called surfaceome, of circulating tumor cells. This approach seeks to identify immune evasion mechanisms and discover potential therapeutic targets. Circulating tumor cells (

A New Algorithm of Shape Boundaries Based on Chain Coding

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences, 2017
A new method to obtain connected component in binary images is presented. The method uses DFA automaton to obtain chain code and label the component boundary.

Circulating tumor cells in metastatic breast cancer patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors – a biomarker analysis of the ALICE and ICON trials

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Determinisability of one-clock timed automata [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The deterministic membership problem for timed automata asks whether the timed language recognised by a nondeterministic timed automaton can be recognised by a deterministic timed automaton. We show that the problem is decidable when the input automaton is a one-clock nondeterministic timed automaton without epsilon transitions and the number of clocks

A quantum cellular automaton for universal quantum computation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
I describe a quantum cellular automaton capable of performing universal quantum computation. The automaton has an elementary transition function that acts on Margolus cells of $2\times 2$ qubits, and both the ``quantum input'' and the program are encoded in the initial state of the system.

Applications of Automaton Groups in Cryptography [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
In 1991 the first public key protocol involving automaton groups has been proposed. In this paper we give a survey about algorithmic problems around automaton groups which may have potential applications in cryptography. We then present a new public key protocol based on the conjugacy search problem in some families of automaton groups.

Damaging 2D Quantum Gravity [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Lett. B326 (1994) 51-56, 1993
We investigate numerically the behaviour of damage spreading in a Kauffman cellular automaton with quenched rules on a dynamical $\phi^3$ graph, which is equivalent to coupling the model to discretized 2D gravity. The model is interesting from the cellular automaton point of view as it lies midway between a fully quenched automaton with fixed rules and

Loose-Coupling a Cellular Automaton Model and GIS: Long-Term Urban Growth Prediction for San Francisco and Washington/Baltimore

open access: yesInternational Journal of Geographical Information Science, 1998
"Prior research developed a cellular automaton model, that was calibrated by using historical digital maps of urban areas and can be used to predict the future extent of an urban area. The model has now been applied to two rapidly growing, but remarkably

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.

L’usage des automates interactifs dans les lieux publics

open access: yesCommunication, 2011
For the last twenty years, interactive information kiosks have become increasingly present in public places, providing transactional, orientational and informational services plus more didactic functions, particularly in Museology.
