Effect of Inhomogeneous Temperature in Chip‐Scale Infrared Thermal Sources: A Revisited Blackbody Radiation Formula with Experimental Validation

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Revisited Black‐body radiation formula accounting for nonuniform temperature is proposed for calibration of planar thermal light sources. Calibration of optical power is based on measurement of the highest and lowest temperatures. Abstract Miniature and low‐cost light sources are highly desirable for numerous optical microsystems.

Novel Phosphazenium Tetrafluoroborate Dopant Enables Efficient and Thermally Stable n‐Doped Organic Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A novel n‐dopant, phosphazenium tetrafluoroborate (P2BF4), is introduced for efficient n‐doping in N2200, P(PzDPP‐CT2) and other organic semiconductors (OSCs). P2BF4‐doped OSC films exhibit exceptional thermal stability, maintaining electrical conductivity after heating at > 150 °C for 24 h. This stability allows organic thermoelectric devices based on

Enabling Enhanced Performance of High Areal Capacity Composite Positive Electrodes by Tailoring Electrode Formulation and Microstructure via a Conductive Additive Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
High‐load lithium‐ion battery electrodes based on LiNi0.6Mn0.2Co0.2O2 (45 mg cm−2, 8 mAh cm−2) are produced by blending carbon nanotubes, conductive graphite, and carbon black as conductive additives to optimize both processing and performance. This formulation enhances specific discharge capacities to 146 mAh g−1 at 0.5 C, a 60% increase compared to ...
