Qualitative study of clinician and patient perspectives on the mode of anaesthesia for emergency surgery

Although delivering a chosen mode of anaesthesia for certain emergency surgery procedures is potentially beneficial to patients, it is a complex intervention to evaluate. Seventy‐nine interviews with clinicians and patients were analysed thematically to explore experiences of anaesthesia in emergency surgery.

Abstract Older custodial grandparents raising adolescent grandchildren are often underprepared to parent adolescent grandchildren with complex biological, psychological, and social needs. Greater understanding of social support networks may contribute to enhancing the well‐being and longevity of these caregivers.
