Autonomous navigation for BigDog
2010 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2010BigDog is a four legged robot with exceptional rough-terrain mobility. In this paper, we equip BigDog with a laser scanner, stereo vision system, and perception and navigation algorithms. Using these sensors and algorithms, BigDog performs autonomous navigation to goal positions in unstructured forest environments.

Inertial Autonomous Navigation Technology
2020In this chapter, the measurement equations of gyroscope and accelerometer and the differential equations of strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) are presented at first. For high accurate application, in order to reduce the influence of output noise on the calculation accuracy of the system and make full use of the output information, the outputs

Autonomous road vehicle navigation
Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, 1994Abstract This paper describes a new modular hardware design for an autonomous land vehicle, together with techniques for navigation and obstacle avoidance. A “bootstrap” algorithm is described which aligns the vehicle from an arbitrary starting point using the road's vanishing point.

Autonomous indoor 3D navigation
Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis, 2015A description of a new approach to the solution of the problem of autonomous indoor navigation is presented that is based on active use of models of virtual reality, 3D simulation, visualization of objects of the internal infrastructure of buildings, and the development of a client--server system of autonomous navigation inside these objects.

Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Navigation
2016This chapter surveys the problem of navigation for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV s). Navigation is critical for the safety and effectiveness of AUV missions. The unavailability of global positioning system (GPS ) underwater makes AUV navigation a challenging research problem.

Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Navigation
IEEE Journal of Oceanic Engineering, 2010This paper considers the vehicle navigation problem for an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) with six degrees of freedom. We approach this problem using an error state formulation of the Kalman filter. Integration of the vehicle's high-rate inertial measurement unit's (IMU's) accelerometers and gyros allow time propagation while other sensors provide

Autonome Navigation eines Feldroboters
2018This work is based on the research project FRANC-Field Robot for Advanced Navigation in bio-Crops which actually had already been finished. The first part of this thesis aims to evaluate, whether the navigation tools of the softwareframework, which was designated for the prototype built in the course of the project, are suitable for the robot.

Tele-Autonomous Watercraft Navigation
2007This paper concerns the instrumenting of a small watercraft to support a hybrid navigation strategy which combines remote human supervisory guidance with reaction based obstacle avoidance. This style of control is called ‘tele-autonomous’. Potential applications include search and rescue operations, coastal surveillance, water pollution source tracing ...
