This report examines auxetic materials which are designed to have a negative Poisson’s ratio. Thismeans they expand sideways when stretched. This unusual behaviour provides unique mechanicaladvantages, such as better resistance to indentation, improved toughness against fractures, andbeneficial synclastic curvature, which aids in uniform bending.

Exploration of auxetics materials in sport
A special property of auxetic materials is their negative Poisson’s ratio : this material shortens or lengthen in all directions when subjected respectively to a compressive or tensile force. This unusual characteristic opens up new perspectives in many fields. Sport is one of the fields where these properties can be well exploited. Already studied and

This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...

Auxetic Textile Materials - A review
Auxetic textiles are materials which possess negative Poisson’s ratio, this implies that in contrast to conventional textile materials if they are stretched in longitudinal direction, a marginal expansion will results in transversal direction. Auxetic textile materials have become a point of focus for many researchers in recent past years.
