4D Chern-Simons theory with auxiliary fields

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The auxiliary field sigma model (AFSM) has recently been constructed by Ferko and Smith as deformations of the principal chiral model by including auxiliary fields and the potential term given by an arbitrary univariate function.

N=3 supersymmetric Born-Infeld theory

open access: yes, 2001
We construct an off-shell N=3 supersymmetric extension of the abelian D=4 Born-Infeld action starting from the action of supersymmetric Maxwell theory in N=3 harmonic superspace.

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

1/3 SUBHARMONIC RESPONSE OF DUFFING OSCILLATOR UNDER PERIODIC AND RANDOM EXCITATIONS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Research, 2014
The subharmonic response of one third order of Duffing oscillator under harmonic and random excitations is investigated for the first time by a technique combining the stochastic averaging method, the equivalent linearization method, and the technique of

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

KdV equation in the quarter--plane: evolution of the Weyl functions and unbounded solutions

open access: yes, 2011
The matrix KdV equation with a negative dispersion term is considered in the right upper quarter--plane. The evolution law is derived for the Weyl function of a corresponding auxiliary linear system. Using the low energy asymptotics of the Weyl functions,

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
