PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Semantic Segmentation of Aerial Laser Point Clouds Based on Deep-Residual Enhanced Coding of Multi-Feature Information

open access: yesRemote Sensing
The semantic segmentation of laser point clouds is critical for many applications of aerial point clouds. However, most of the existing deep learning networks do not make full use of point cloud data information.

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Speech recognition with auxiliary information

open access: yes, 2003
Automatic speech recognition (ASR) is a very challenging problem due to the wide variety of the data that it must be able to deal with. Being the standard tool for ASR, hidden Markov models (HMMs) have proven to work well for ASR when there are controls over the variety of the data. Being relatively new to ASR, dynamic Bayesian networks (DBNs) are more

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Estimation of a Distribution function under Sampling on Two Occasions

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2009
Estimation of the distribution function under sampling on two occasions with a simple random sampling design on each occasion is investigated. Composite regression and ratio type estimators are considered, using values of the study variable as auxiliary ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

A Refined Regression Estimator for General Inverse Adaptive Cluster Sampling

open access: yesMathematics
Adaptive cluster sampling (ACS) is a sampling technique commonly used for rare populations that exhibit spatial clustering. However, the initially selected sample units may not always satisfy the specified inclusion condition.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...
