The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

An Experimental Survey of Extended Resolution Effects for SAT Solvers on the Pigeonhole Principle

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2022
It has been proven that extended resolution (ER) has more powerful reasoning than general resolution for the pigeonhole principle in Cook’s paper.

A Semantic Principle of Auxiliary Selection in Dutch

open access: yesNatural Language & Linguistic Theory, 1997
We propose that the choice between the auxiliaries hebben ‘have’ and zijn ‘be’ in Dutch is determined by a particular semantic feature of verbs. In particular we propose a feature of meaning [IEPS] for ‘inferable eventual position or state’ that characterizes whether the action denoted by the verb allows us to determine the eventual position or state ...

Differential phase extraction in an atom gradiometer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present here a method for the extraction of the differential phase of an atom gradiometer that exploits the correlation of the vibration signal measured by an auxiliary classical sensor, such as a seismometer or an accelerometer.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Radial mechanics and simulation analysis of main-auxiliary structure metal spring wheel

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2019
Aiming at the various special circumstances of automobile driving process, a main-auxiliary structure metal spring wheel is proposed, which prevents effectively the abrupt accident caused by blown or punctured tire.

An Extension of the Invariance Principle for Switched Affine System

open access: yesTrends in Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2020
In this paper, an approach to investigate switched affine system via matrix inequalities is presented. Particularly, an extension of LaSalle’s invariance principle for this class of systems under arbitrary dwell-time switching signal is presented.

A Polynomial First Order Action for the Dirichlet 3-brane [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
A new first order action for type IIB Dirichlet 3-brane is proposed. Its form is inspired by the superfield equations of motion obtained recently from the generalized action principle. The action involves auxiliary symmetric spin tensor fields.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
