Generalized synchronization of chaotic systems: An auxiliary system approach via matrix measure

Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2009
In this paper, generalized synchronization of two chaotic systems is investigated. The auxiliary system approach, which is suggested by H. Abarbanel, N. Rulkov, and M. Sushchik [Phys. Rev. E 53, 4528 (1996)], is used to detect and study generalized synchronization.

Substructure coupling approach to parameterization of passive dynamic auxiliary systems

Production Engineering, 2016
A physical structure might show undesired forced vibrations when excited by a specific force signal. Moreover, if the resulting deflections influence the acting force, undesired self-excited vibrations can result. In such cases a usual approach is to modify the structure by mounting passive tuned mass dampers (TMD).

Topology identification of fractional-order complex dynamical networks based on auxiliary-system approach

Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2021
Many practical systems can be well described by various fractional-order equations. This paper focuses on identifying the topology of the response layer of a drive-response fractional-order complex dynamical network using the auxiliary-system approach.

A Semantic-Based Approach to Building Auxiliary System for Screen-Based Reading

2016 IEEE 14th Intl Conf on Dependable, Autonomic and Secure Computing, 14th Intl Conf on Pervasive Intelligence and Computing, 2nd Intl Conf on Big Data Intelligence and Computing and Cyber Science and Technology Congress(DASC/PiCom/DataCom/CyberSciTech), 2016
With an increasing amount of electronic documents,screen-based reading becomes popular, how toimprove the ability of reading deeply and sustaining aprolonged engagement in reading is one of challenges in a digital environment. In this paper, we describe a semantic analysis framework for proactively decreasing fragmented time while screen-based reading.

An analytic criterion for generalized synchronization in unidirectionally coupled systems based on the auxiliary system approach

Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2012
An analytic criterion is developed to investigate generalized synchronization (GS) in unidirectionally coupled systems based on the auxiliary system approach. The criterion is derived by transforming the existence problem of generalized synchronization into an eigenvalue problem.

New Approach for Versatile Self Piercing Riveting: Joining System and Auxiliary Part

Key Engineering Materials, 2021
The increasing use of multi-material constructions lead to a continuous increase in the use of mechanical joining techniques due to the wide range of joining possibilities as well as the high load-bearing capacities of the joints. Nevertheless, the currently rigid tool systems are not able to react to changing boundary conditions, like changing the ...

A new scalar auxiliary variable approach for general dissipative systems

2021
In this thesis, we first propose a new scalar auxiliary variable (SAV) approach for general dissipative nonlinear systems. This new approach is half computational cost of the original SAV approach, can be extended to high order unconditionally energy stable backward differentiation formula (BDF) schemes and not restricted to the gradient flow structure.

Auxiliary Ventilation Systems Design Basis and Analysis Approach

ASME 2010 Power Conference, 2010
Auxiliary systems supporting pressurized water reactors (PWR) within commercial nuclear power plants are enclosed within a special ventilation (SV) zone that is isolated post-accident. Air within the SV zone is recirculated through carbon adsorbers, and discharged at a rate equal to the SV zone air infiltration rate.
