Summary Xylem trait studies have enhanced our understanding of how plants strategically adapt their morphological and anatomical features to diverse climates. Despite the importance of the phloem in plant functioning, similar studies of phloem traits are lacking.

Summary RHO (RAS homologous) GTPases regulate important cellular and developmental processes in most eukaryotes. Plant‐specific ROP (RHO of plants) GTPase families expanded and functionally diversified during the evolution of vascular plants, but contain few members in nonvascular extant relatives of early land plants.

In the present study we report the effect of inhibitors of auxin polar transport, NPA, TIBA and morphactin IT 3456, on indole-3-acetic acid (IAA)and indole-3-butyric acid (IBA)-induced growth of excised stem from growing tulips (Tulipa gesneriana L ...

Summary Phyllotaxis is the arrangement of lateral organs on a stem axis, which in Arabidopsis follows a spiral pattern. We previously described that loss of three PLETHORA (PLT) transcription factors shifts the phyllotactic spiral to novel metastable patterns, but the mechanism behind these shifts remained unclear.

Summary Target of rapamycin (TOR) kinase is the hub of a eukaryotic master signaling network that integrates nutritional and hormonal signals into cellular activities. Most studies on TOR in plants have focused on seedlings, where TOR is most responsive to light and sucrose.
