Avalanches are snow flows on mountain slopes due to the breakdown of the snow cover. It is very practical to distinguish two typical avalanche flows: (i) airborne avalanche, which is the flow of a ice particles/ air suspension in the form of an aerosol, (ii) flowing avalanche, which is the motion of a snow mass along the ground.
