Abstract Regulation of respiratory muscle blood flow during acute systemic hypotension remains poorly understood in humans because continuous assessment of microvascular perfusion during rapid haemodynamic transients has been technically challenging. Using diffuse correlation spectroscopy, we investigated second‐by‐second coupling between mean arterial

Abstract High‐altitude chronic hypoxia can induce excessive erythrocytosis (EE, defined as a haemoglobin concentration of ≥21 g/dL in men), leading to hyperviscosity and promoting endothelial dysfunction. We aimed to assess whether EE affects the retinal vascular phenotype and the ophthalmological vascular response to CO2.

ABSTRACT This paper examines how governments navigate policy legitimacy during crises through three distinct discursive processes: legitimization, delegitimization, and blame avoidance. Using a sequential mixed‐methods design, the study analyzes Denmark's decision to cull all mink during the COVID‐19 pandemic. The quantitative analysis of 947 newspaper

Abstract SO2 flux and gas composition were measured during the 2021 flank eruption of Pacaya Volcano (Guatemala). The SO2 flux, measured with Tropomi, gradually rose from ∼2 to ∼30 kg/s over a 5 month period before the eruption. Field UV camera data showed that >95% of the SO2 was emitted from the summit crater.
