Differences in Salinity Tolerance in Avena sativa and Avena nuda
Both Avena sativa and Avena nuda, which are highly valued for their use in food and fodder, demonstrate considerable potential in the management of saline-alkali soils.

Loop-erased partitioning of a graph: mean-field analysis [PDF]
We consider a random partition of the vertex set of an arbitrary graph that can be sampled using loop-erased random walks stopped at a random independent exponential time of parameter $q>0$, that we see as a tuning parameter. The related random blocks tend to cluster nodes visited by the random walk on time scale $1/q$.

Click beetle (Elateridae) olfactory preferences for plant volatiles, including those released by damaged plants, remain poorly understood. Olfactometer and electroantennography experiments revealed sex‐ and plant species‐specific olfactory preferences of Agriotes sputator beetles, with maturity influencing female responses.

Conventional methods for detecting seed-borne fungi are laborious and time-consuming, requiring specialized analysts for characterization of pathogenic fungi on seed. Multispectral imaging (MSI) combined with machine vision was used as an alternative method to detect Drechslera avenae (Eidam) Sharif [Helminthosporium avenae (Eidam)] in black oat seeds (

Random walk in cooling random environment: recurrence versus transience and mixed fluctuations [PDF]
This is the third in a series of papers in which we consider one-dimensional Random Walk in Cooling Random Environment (RWCRE). The latter is obtained by starting from one-dimensional Random Walk in Random Environment (RWRE) and resampling the environment along a sequence of deterministic times, called refreshing times.

A local CLT for convolution equations with an application to weakly self-avoiding random walks [PDF]
We prove error bounds in a central limit theorem for solutions of certain convolution equations. The main motivation for investigating these equations stems from applications to lace expansions, in particular to weakly self-avoiding random walks in high dimensions. As an application we treat such self-avoiding walks in continuous space.

Fast‐growing annual plants drive disease spillover in multi‐host communities
Our modelling study predicts that slower‐growing hosts will bear the greater impact of pathogen spillover in the form of reduced end‐of‐season biomass (panel A). Faster‐growing hosts are predicted to be high impact reservoirs for spillover and could amplify disease in multi‐host communities (panel B).

Considerations about rodent models of binge eating episodes [PDF]
A binge eating episode is defined as an uncontrolled event of hyperphagia, in which people quickly eat a large amount of food while feeling a sense of loss of control over eating (Wolfe et al., 2009).
