Temporal dependent rate-distortion optimization based on distortion backward propagation

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2022
Rate-distortion optimization (RDO) is a crucial technique in block based hybrid video encoders. However, the widely used independent RDO is far from obtaining optimal coding performance. To improve the rate-distortion (R-D) performance of high efficiency ...

Resource allocation algorithm for downlink multiuser CoMP system

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2013
For downlink multiuser coordinated multi-point transmission (MU-CoMP) system,a fast resource allocation algorithm was proposed to solve the margin adaptive (MA) problem.Firstly the algorithm estimated the number of sub-carriers for each user based on its

Performance Evaluation of MRMED Algorithm by Monitoring BER

open access: yesSir Syed University Research Journal of Engineering and Technology, 2021
In this research work, we have developed a communication system (transmitter / receiver) to control peak to average power (PAPR) with  small bit error rate (BER) for a 4G system called multicode code division multiple access (MCCDMA).

Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.

Two-Stage Maximum Likelihood Estimation (TSMLE) for MT-CDMA Signals in the Indoor Environment

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2004
This paper proposes a two-stage maximum likelihood estimation (TSMLE) technique suited for multitone code division multiple access (MT-CDMA) system. Here, an analytical framework is presented in the indoor environment for determining the average bit ...

Bit error rate performance analysis of SIMO-UWOC systems in fading environments

open access: yesDianxin kexue
In the marine turbulence fading environment, a hybrid fading channel model was considered, which included the effects of generalized Gamma distribution (GGD) marine turbulence, zero-mean axis pointing errors, and path loss.

An Engineered Living Material With Pro‐Angiogenic Activity Inducible by Near‐Infrared Light

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
NIR‐responsive engineered living materials (ELMs) for controlled angiogenesis: Near‐infrared (800 nm) light activates engineered probiotic bacteria within alginate‐based living materials to secrete a blood vessel‐regenerating protein. The released protein promotes pro‐angiogenic effects in endothelial networks and chick chorioallantoic membranes.

On the Feasibility of Efficient Multiamplitude Communication [PDF]

open access: yes
Bandwidth constraints in earth-satellite communication systems force consideration of uncoded M-ary modulation to obtain increased data rates. M-ary phase shift keying (MPSK) at first glance seems most promising because of the high transmitter efficiency

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT OF OFDM SYSTEM BY PEAK TO AVERAGE POWER REDUCTION THROUGH PULSE SHAPING TECHNIQUE [PDF]

open access: yesICTACT Journal on Communication Technology, 2010
OFDM is a form of multicarrier modulation technique with high spectral efficiency, robustness to channel fading, immunity to impulse interference, uniform average spectral density capacity of handling very strong echoes and non-linear distortion. Despite
