Design and Characteristics Evaluation of the Transmission Line Simulator having a Certain Random and Burst Average Bit Error Rates

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Electronics, Information and Systems, 2005
In binary digital transmission, a bit error rate (BER) is the most important evaluation standard. But actual transmission line does not give any bit error rate, because a bit error occurs by existence of analog noise power. If these noisy communication channel which shows a certain random and burst bit error rate, called a transmission line simulator ...

Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

Effect of controllable parameter synchronization on the ensemble average bit error rate of space-to-ground downlink chaos laser communication system

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
Chaotic modulation is a scheme used to enhance the information security through the configuration parameter synchronization. When chaotic modulation is adopted in the space-to-ground laser communication system, the traditional bit error rate (BER) calculation model for fiber-based chaos communication system is no longer available to depict the long ...

Breaking the Buildup-time Limit of sensitivity in Avalanche Photodiodes by Dynamic Biasing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Avalanche photodiodes (APDs) are the preferred photodetectors for direct-detection, high data-rate long-haul optical telecommunications. APDs can detect low-level optical signals due to their internal amplification of the photon-generated electrical ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.
