The estimation of the performance of terahertz wireless communication under the effect of various weather conditions is vital. In this work, the combined effects of cold weather conditions such as snow, as well as random effects of turbulence and pointing errors (PEs) between the transmitter and receiver, on the performance of ...

Analytical evaluation of average bit error rate for the land mobile satellite channel
International Journal of Satellite Communications, 1989AbstractAn analytical solution is presented showing the average bit error probability for the land mobile satellite channel. The channel is modelled as Rice and Rayleigh—lognormal fading. Modulation schemes under consideration include differentially detected PSK and non‐coherently detected FSK.

We study the influence of atmospheric turbulence on satellite communications by the theoretical analysis of propagation characteristics of electromagnetic waves through inhomogeneous random media. We analyze the average bit error rate (BER) for the Geostationary Earth Orbit satellite downlink communications in Ka-band under atmospheric turbulence whose

In this paper, a novel unified performance analysis of wireless communications over generalized fading channels in terms of the Average Bit Error Rate (ABER) is presented. We derive simple and accurate, exact and approximate, closed-form expressions for ABER, encapsulating all coherent modulations, for the α-η-μ, the α-λ-μ and the α-λ-μ-η, generalized ...

In this paper, assuming Intensity-Modulation/Direct Detection (IM/DD) with On-Off Keying (OOK), a novel expression for average BER of FSO over Exponentiated Weibull (EW) atmospheric turbulence channel is derived. In the free space optical (FSO) channel the optical signal suffers from irradiance and phase fluctuations caused by the atmospheric ...

Abstract In moderate to strong oceanic turbulence, a differential phase-shift-keying (DPSK) modulated underwater wireless optical communication (UWOC) system with an aperture receiver is presented. The analytical expressions for mean bit error rate (BER) of UWOC system over moderate to strong oceanic turbulence are derived based on Gamma–Gamma ...

Adaptive Resource Allocation Algorithm Based on Minimize Average Bit-Error-Rate for OFDM Systems
Wireless Personal Communications, 2016Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a popular multicarrier modulation method for wireless systems. However, the OFDM communication system is sensitive to inter-carrier interference (ICI), which arises because of Doppler spread and carrier frequency offset.

AbstractThe transmission quality of mobile radio communications is strongly affected by fading with rapid fluctuations in the envelope and phase of the received signal, in addition to the effect of thermal noise. This paper considers a multiple access system (DS‐CDMA system) using the spread spectrum technique with direct spread, and presents a method ...

In this paper the performance of different convolutional code generator polynomials with constraint length 7 is examined in relation to OFDM transmissions. The performance is evaluated in terms to Bit Error Rate (BER) in white Gaussian noise and Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR).
