Performance Analysis of a Dual-Hop Wireless-Power Line Mixed Cooperative System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Wireless communications and power line communications (PLC) are essential components for smart grid communications. This paper analyses the performance of a dual-hop wireless-power line mixed communication setup employing a decode-and-forward relay in ...

Employing Coordinated Transmit and Receive Beamforming in Clustering Double-Directional Radio Channel

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2007
A novel beamforming (BF) system that employs two switched beam antennas (SBAs) at both ends of the wireless link in an indoor double-directional radio channel (DDRC) is proposed. The distributed directivity gain (DDG) and beam pattern correlation in DDRC

Intelligent Transmission Power Allocation for Distributed Beamforming in Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2015
Distributed beamforming can significantly improve the reliability of the link and the capacity and the coverage of wireless networks. Using a subset number of nodes from a network of sensors, they collectively transmit a common message to an intended ...

A High-Capacity Reversible Data Hiding Scheme Using Dual-Channel Audio

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In recent years, the reversible data hiding (RDH) based on dual stego cover is developing rapidly because of its high capacity and low distortion. For image case, however, two consecutive images of the same image will draw the attention of adversaries ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Ergodic Capacity of Generalized Fading Channels With Mobility

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology, 2022
In this paper, we consider the ergodicchannel capacity (ECC) of several generalized fading channels for a mobile user that moves inside a coverage area according to the random waypoint (RWP) mobility model.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

User Effects on MIMO Performance: From an Antenna to a Link Perspective

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2011
We investigate in this paper the effects of the user's presence on the performance of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system in data and in voice usage scenarios. The investigation studies the user effects on the antenna performance and how these

Capacity of the Energy Harvesting Channel with a Finite Battery

open access: yes, 2016
We consider an energy harvesting channel, in which the transmitter is powered by an exogenous stochastic energy harvesting process $E_t$, such that $0\leq E_t\leq\bar{E}$, which can be stored in a battery of finite size $\bar{B}$. We provide a simple and
