Optimal channel switching in multiuser systems under average capacity constraints [PDF]

open access: yesDigital Signal Processing, 2017
Abstract In this paper, the optimal channel switching problem is studied for average capacity maximization in the presence of multiple receivers in the communication system. First, the optimal channel switching problem is proposed for average capacity maximization of the communication between the transmitter and the secondary receiver while ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The Noncoherent Rician Fading Channel -- Part I : Structure of the Capacity-Achieving Input

open access: yes, 2005
Transmission of information over a discrete-time memoryless Rician fading channel is considered where neither the receiver nor the transmitter knows the fading coefficients. First the structure of the capacity-achieving input signals is investigated when

On the average-listsize capacity and the cutoff rate of discrete memoryless channels with feedback [PDF]

open access: yes2013 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW), 2013
We study the cutoff rate and the average-listsize capacity of discrete memoryless channels (DMCs) with feedback. We show that feedback can increase the average-listsize capacity but not the cutoff rate. For DMCs with positive zero-error capacity, we show that the average-listsize capacity with feedback is equal to the cutoff rate.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Optimal Power Control in Decentralized Gaussian Multiple Access Channels

open access: yes, 2018
We consider the decentralized power optimization problem for Gaussian fast-fading multiple access channel (MAC) so that the average sum-throughput is maximized.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Research on the Total Channel Capacities Pertaining to Two Coverage Layouts for Three-Dimensional, UAV-Assisted Ad Hoc Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) employed as airborne base stations (BSs) are considered the essential components in future sixth-generation wireless networks due to their mobility and line-of-sight communication links.

Second-Order Asymptotics for the Classical Capacity of Image-Additive Quantum Channels

open access: yes, 2015
We study non-asymptotic fundamental limits for transmitting classical information over memoryless quantum channels, i.e. we investigate the amount of classical information that can be transmitted when a quantum channel is used a finite number of times ...

Optimal channel switching for average capacity maximization in the presence of switching delays [PDF]

open access: yes2016 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2016
In this study, the optimal channel switching problem is investigated for average capacity maximization in the presence of channel switching delays. First, the optimal strategy is obtained and the corresponding average capacity is derived when channel switching is performed among a given number of channels.
