An application of the initial value representation (IVR) of semiclassical (SC) theory to approximate the quantum mechanical time evolution operator, exp[−iĤt/ℏ], requires an integral over the phase space of initial conditions of classical trajectories.

Abstract We have carried out measurements on metastable fragmentation of mass selected nitrogen cluster ions, (N 2 ) n + , which are produced by electron impact ionization of a neutral nitrogen cluster beam. We have derived binding energies for n = 5–10, from the kinetic energy released in metastable decay reactions using finite heat bath theory.

Opportunistic Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) systems are emerging as a key to enable the Department of Defense (DoD) to meet its technology requirements for access to the electromagnetic spectrum. One of the main goals of DSA is to protect incumbent spectrum users from interference that could be caused by DSA emitters. One of the ways to accomplish this

A method is described that allows the measurement of the absolute value of the average energy to produce an ion pair in noble gases for soft X-rays and its energy dependence. It uses a specially designed gas proportional scintillation counter working under electric fields below the ionization threshold.

This work examines the average value of electronic kinetic energy during the dielectric ageing of solid insulators. For this purpose, samples of various insulators with a relative permittivity e r =2.5-4.5 (e.g. industrial bakelite) were electrically stressed by the imposition of a high AC voltage.

In this paper, the authors point out that data from earlier experiments carried out to measure beta-strength functions for short-lived fission products can also be used to provide average beta- and gamma-decay energy values for these nuclides. In their evaluation of decay data for the ENDF/B-V fission product file, the authors have used this approach ...

A method recently developed for calculating vibrational spectral densities of molecules, previously tested successfully on H2O, is applied here to several larger molecules. The method relies on use of a time averaging procedure in the conventional semiclassical (SC) initial value representation (IVR) expression for the spectral density. The convergence

To evaluate the predictors of the total laser energy (TLE) required during ureteroscopic lithotripsy (URS) using the holmium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet (Ho:YAG) laser for a single ureteral stone. We retrospectively analyzed the data of 93 URS procedures performed for a single ureteral stone in our institution from November 2011 to September 2015.
