The Average Value for the Probability of an Undetected Error
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2008A new identity for the weight enumerator of a code is derived. The new identity is shown to be related to the average value of the probability of an undetected error when is a continuous random variable.

Mathematics in Oil Production, 1987
There is a need in the numerical simulation of reservoir performance to use average permeability values for the grid blocks. The permeability distributions to be averaged over are based on samples taken from cores and from logs using correlations between permeabilities and porosities and from other sources. It is necessary to use a suitable “effective”

AVERAGE VALUE OF SUM OF EXPONENTS OF RUNS IN A STRING
International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2009A substring w[i.j] in w is called a repetition of period p if w[k] = w[k + p] for any i ≤ k ≤ j - p. Especially, a maximal repetition, which cannot be extended neither to left nor to right, is called a run. The ratio of the length of the run to its period, i.e. [Formula: see text], is called an exponent.

THE VALUE OF AN OPTION BASED ON AN AVERAGE SECURITY VALUE
1986In this paper we shall discuss a financial option of which the payoff depends on the average value of the underlying security over some final time interval. After explaining what an option is about we will derive a partial differential equation for the option which is different from the partial differential equation of a simple European call option ...
