Cell Segmentation Beyond 2D—A Review of the State‐of‐the‐Art

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Cell segmentation underpins many biological image analysis tasks, yet most deep learning methods remain limited to 2D despite the inherently 3D nature of cellular processes. This review surveys segmentation approaches beyond 2D, comparing 2.5D and fully 3D methods, analyzing 31 models and 32 volumetric datasets, and introducing a unified reference ...

Effect of Cooling Rate after Solution Treatment on Subsequent Phase Separation Evolution in Super Duplex Stainless Steel 25Cr-7Ni (wt.%)

open access: yesMetals, 2022
The effect of cooling rate after solution treatment on the initial structure of super duplex stainless steel 25Cr-7Ni (wt.%), and the effect of the initial structure on phase separation (PS) evolution during subsequent aging were investigated.

Experimental and Comparative Study of the Corrosion Behavior of Lean Duplex Stainless Steel in Seawater

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
The localized corrosion behavior of lean duplex stainless steel EN 1.4062 is systematically compared with austenitic and higher‐alloyed duplex grades in natural seawater. A clear resistance ranking is established, highlighting EN 1.4062 as a cost‐effective alternative for limited marine exposure.

A Critical Entry to the Concept of Farrah-e Izadi: Essence or Acquisition by Relying on the Concept of Šāhī Ārmānī [PDF]

open access: yesComparative Theology
Revisiting the fundamental concepts of Šāhī Ārmānī in ancient Iran is essential. The oral traditions of ancient Iranian civilization, the richness of Iranian mythology, and the literary transmission of ancient teachings—often laden with metaphor—have all

Computer Modeling of the Ferrite‐To‐Austenite Transformation in a Super‐Duplex Stainless Steel and the Important Role of Trans‐Interface Diffusion

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
An accurate moving boundary model for volume diffusion containing boundary conditions from trans‐interface diffusion (TID) simulates the austenite growth during cooling. TID of Cr, Mo, N and Ni enhance growth kinetics. Without TID, compositions of the interface region change, decreasing the driving force for growth and finally causing numerical ...

Record Index–Bandgap Trade‐Off: CdPS3 as a High‐Index van der Waals Platform for Ultraviolet–Visible Nanophotonics

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 11, 13 June 2026.
The fundamental index–bandgap trade‐off strictly limits materials for short‐wavelength nanophotonics. The van der Waals crystal CdPS3 emerges as a compelling alternative platform challenging this paradigm. Combining an exceptionally high refractive index approaching 3 with a broad mid‐infrared‐to‐ultraviolet transparency window, CdPS3 unlocks new ...
