Atrioventricular Ring Tachycardias: Atypical Fast-Slow Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia and Atrial Tachycardia Share a Common Arrhythmogenic Substrate—A Unifying Proposal

open access: yesReviews in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2022
Our understanding of the variants of slow pathway (SP) and associated atypical atrioventricular (AV) nodal reentrant tachycardia (NRT) is still growing. We have identified variants extending outside Koch’s triangle along the tricuspid annulus, including ...

Efficacy and Safety of 60 W Versus 90 W, 4‐s Radiofrequency Applications to the Esophagus‐Adjacent Left Atrial Posterior Wall During Pulmonary Vein Isolation: A Pilot Study

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
In this randomized pilot study, 60 W and 90 W QMODE+ RF applications for the periesophageal region achieved comparable acute block and low esophageal injury rates (4.2% each), with similar 1‐year arrhythmia‐free survival, although contact force was higher in the 60 W group.

Wenckebach cycle length: A novel predictor for AV block in AVNRT patients treated with ablation

open access: yes, 2021
Background Radiofrequency catheter ablation remains the most effective management option for atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia (AVNRT). The risk of atrioventricular (AV) block requiring permanent pacemaker is substantial, but, currently, a ...

Electrocardiographic variables associated with underlying Brugada syndrome or drug‐induced Type 1 Brugada pattern in patients with slow/fast atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, 2022
Background The coexistence of clinical atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) and drug‐induced type 1 Brugada pattern (DI‐Type 1 BrP) has been previously reported.

Anaesthetic Techniques for Cardiac Ablation—A Scoping Review

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 9, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Cardiac arrhythmias, particularly atrial fibrillation, have rising prevalence and represent a growing global health burden. Catheter ablation is a commonly used treatment demanding sedation or anaesthesia for comfort, stability and safety. Anaesthetic techniques vary globally, and the optimal strategy has yet to be determined.

Study of Electrification Method for AVNRT

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, 2011
Zipes/Jalife Cardiac Electrophysiology (fifth edition) states that the site of electrification in usual atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia (AVNRT) aims at ablation between the tricuspid valve annulus and the coronoary sinus ostium (CSOS) which is capable of disconnecting the circuit.

Atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia onset, sustainability, and spontaneous termination in rabbit atrioventricular node model with autonomic nervous system control

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology
Atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) is one of the most common types of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. The activity of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) is known to influence episodes of AVNRT, yet the precise mechanisms ...

Irregularly irregular AVNRT misdiagnosed by smartwatch

open access: yesIndian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal
A fifty-one-year-old woman presented with an irregularly irregular rhythm noted on a smartwatch. EP study revealed a narrow complex A-on-V tachycardia with significant cycle-length variability. Pacing maneuvers were consistent with atrioventricular nodal re-entry tachycardia (AVNRT), and we performed slow pathway modification. While AVNRT can have some
