The Japanese Catheter Ablation Registry (J‐AB): Annual Report in 2024

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 4, August 2026.
Analysis of 112 151 catheter ablation procedures from the 2024 Japanese Catheter Ablation (J‐AB) Registry demonstrated consistently low acute complication rates, with a slight reduction from 2023, confirming the safety of contemporary catheter ablation practice in Japan.

Repolarization adaptation to rapid change in heart rate in human models – a review

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 16, Page 6675-6690, 15 August 2026.
Abstract figure legend This review focuses on non‐invasive assessment of repolarization duration and dispersion (heterogeneity) adaptation to change in heart rate (HR). HR was increased incrementally by left atrial pacing during an electrophysiology (EP) study and by a bolus injection of atropine and in a step up/down fashion by repeated right atrial ...

The Electrophysiology Experience in Patients With Ebstein's Anomaly Undergoing the da Silva Cone Repair at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Volume 37, Issue 7, Page 1442-1449, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction The da Silva Cone repair (CR) has demonstrated to be an effective intervention for Ebstein's anomaly (EA). Perioperative management can be complicated by arrhythmias, but previous studies showed improvement with preoperative catheter and intraoperative surgical ablation.

Para‐Hisian Extra Pacing Enables Unmasking of Hidden Slow Retrograde Conduction

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
In the presence of dual retrograde pathways, conventional Para‐Hisian pacing may fail to reveal the slow pathway, likely due to masking by fast retrograde conduction. In such cases, Para‐Hisian extra pacing—combining programmed right ventricular stimulation with differential His bundle capture—enables assessment of the slow retrograde conduction.

The Upper Common Pathway in Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia: A Comprehensive Review of Evidence and Current Perspectives

open access: yesReviews in Cardiovascular Medicine
Atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) is the most common form of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, and its diagnostic and therapeutic approaches have been well-established.

Premature Beats With QRS Morphology Identical to Sinus Rhythm: What Is the Mechanism

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
This case illustrates a rare presentation of premature junctional contractions arising from the atrioventricular nodal region, particularly the slow pathway, mediated by non‐sustained reentrant activity. This mechanism does not result in sustained tachycardia but instead produces isolated echo beats.

Left free wall‐sided Mahaim type fiber and A‐V nodal reentry tachycardia: Unusual but not impossible combination

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2022
A 52‐year‐old patient with previous catheter ablation of A‐V nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) had a redo procedure for reported recurrence. During the study, AVNRT was not inducible, but a previously unrecognized left‐sided Mahaim‐type accessory ...

Association Between Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction and Subsequent Detection of Sick Sinus Syndrome and Atrial Fibrillation in Patients With Unexplained Syncope

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
Among patients with recurrent unexplained syncope and no prior AF, LV diastolic dysfunction quantified by the HFA‐PEFF score predicts sick sinus syndrome and atrial fibrillation. ABSTRACT Background Atrial fibrillation (AF) and sick sinus syndrome (SSS) frequently coexist and may share common atrial structural and electrophysiological remodeling ...

Table_1_Integrative Analyses Identify Potential Key Genes and Calcium-Signaling Pathway in Familial Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia Using Whole-Exome Sequencing.XLS

open access: yes, 2022
BackgroundAtrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) is a common arrhythmia. Growing evidence suggests that family aggregation and genetic factors are involved in AVNRT.
