Application of AWG-Parameters tool in design of colourless 8-channel, 100 GHz AWG
2013 15th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2013The stand-alone “AWG-Parameters” tool was applied to design various optical multiplexers/demultiplexers based on arrayed waveguide gratings. In this paper we present some additional features of this tool to design a special type of optical multiplexers/demultiplexers, so called “cyclic” or “colourless” AWG.

We numerically evaluate the performance of optical vectorial linear modulators, which consist of asymmetric power splitter, phase shifters and phase modulators (PM); 2N-level quadrature amplitude modulated (QAM) signals are generated by using only N single-drive two-level (binary) RF signals.

Dispersion characteristics of an AWG
Proceedings of the 2001 SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and Optoelectronics Conference. (Cat. No.01TH8568), 2002A phase-delay technique has been used to measure the group delay and dispersion of a 17/spl times/17 Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG) (de) multiplexer. Theoretical and experimental results have been compared and shown that dispersion is not negligible within the 10 dB transmission bandwidth.

WCDMA testing with a baseband/IF range AWG
Proceedings. International Test Conference, 2003WCDMA test applications using an arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) are described in this paper. A test signal generation method for the receiver section of a WCDMA handset is described with a center frequency of 161.28 MHz containing a 5 MHz spread spectrum signal. The arbitrary waveform consumes 2.6 M AWG memory locations running at 3.9 Gs/s. The 1.5

Titanium Dioxide AWG for the Visible
2020 Photonics North (PN), 2020We demonstrate a novel scheme of titanium dioxide arrayed waveguide grating de-multiplexer operating at the center wavelength of 514 nm. The device includes four output channels providing a wavelength separation of 1 nm.

AWG-based metro WDM networking
IEEE Communications Magazine, 2004A plethora of metropolitan area wavelength-division multiplexing networks have been proposed and examined in recent years with the aim to alleviate the bandwidth bottleneck between increasingly higher-speed local/access networks and high-speed backbone networks.

Analysis of pseudo-interleaving AWG
IEEE International Conference on Test, 2005., 2006Testing of a read channel for hard disk drives (HDD) requires an extremely high-speed arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) to emulate Lorentzian waveforms for read functional tests. If a sampling rate required to the AWG exceeds the maximum available rate of the instrument, a possible solution is to use two AWG's together running at the same rate ...

Enhanced Functionalities for AWGs
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2015Two new arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) architectures are presented, for flat-top multiplexing and for the generation of Nyquist sinc -shaped optical pulses. We demonstrate that an AWG, with a number of grating arms double with respect to a conventional configuration, and an input y -branch, is equivalent to a synchronized router, composed of a Mach ...
