The bearing capacity performance of upvc pipe under axial compression
The un-plasticized polyvinyl chloride (UPVC) is increasingly used in the construction industry because of its superior properties, particularly in greenhouses with UPVC as the skeleton. This study investigated the bearing capacities of UPVC pipes under axial compression.

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.

Axial Bearing Capacity Analysis of Pile Foundation using Nakazawa Method
Pile foundation serves to distribute all the loads in the building to the ground. There are several calculation methods for bearing capacity of pile foundation, one of them is Nakazawa method. Nakazawa method adapted from calculation used in Japan where it is relevant for soft soils.

Metastatic niche shaped by host factors influences disseminated cancer cell fate
Metastasis is shaped not only by cancer cells but also by the environments they encounter. This review explores how factors such as aging, diet, the microbiome, lifestyle, and environmental exposures remodel organ‐specific niches in the lung, liver, bone, and brain, influencing where metastatic cells survive, remain dormant, or grow, and ultimately ...

Dynamic FE-based approach to determine the axial bearing capacity of piles
Piles are commonly used foundation structures. The installation process of piles is governed by dynamic processes which induce stress waves into the pile and the surrounding soil. Hence, the bearing capacity of the installed piles is influenced by the dynamic behavior and the resulting pile-soil interaction.

Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?

BEARING CAPACITY AND SETTLEMENT BEHAVIOUR OF COASTAL SOIL FOR THE PLANNED BALONGAN PORT DEVELOPMENT, WEST JAVA [PDF]
The planned development of Balongan Port in West Java requires a comprehensive geotechnical evaluation to support foundation planning at the proposed site, which is underlain by soft, clay-rich sediments. This study aims to assess the bearing capacity of

Numerical analysis of interfacial shear degradation effects on axial uplift bearing capacity of a tension pile [PDF]
The bearing capacity of tension piles involves complex interactions between the tension-pile with the neighboring sediments. A two-dimensional axisymmetric finite element model (FEM) is proposed and verified with the existing experimental results to ...
