Cermets (60 vol.% AISI 316L stainless steel, 40 vol.% recycled MgO), intended for use in aluminum electrolysis, were pre‐oxidized in three furnaces with different heating technologies and subjected to a cryolite corrosion test. The different atmospheres influenced the formation of oxide layers, which in turn affected corrosion resistance and ...

Experimental study on axial compression behavior of square pultruded GFRP tubular stub column
To investigate the influence of aspect ratio and width-to-thickness ratio on the axial compression behavior of square pultruded glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) tubular stub columns, axial compression tests were conducted on 12 GFRP tubular columns.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.
