Axial compression ratio limit for self‐centering precast segmental hollow piers
Structural Concrete, 2017Axial compression ratio limit was investigated for self‐centering precast segmental hollow piers based on post‐earthquake residual axial loading capacity. The analytical method of unbonded posttensioning tendons (PT) stress increment and the simplified method of compression zone height were developed and validated by the finite element model verified ...

High axial force in central columns induced by strong vertical earthquake component is one of the most important factors in failure of subway stations. In this paper, the pushover method is adopted to simulate nonlinear behaviors of a multi-story subway station in Shanghai with different axial compression ratios through the general purpose finite ...

Effect of axial compression ratio on concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall
Advances in Structural Engineering, 2018This study proposes a new type of shear wall, namely, the concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall, for high performance seismic force resisting structures. In order to study the seismic behavior of concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall, cyclic loading tests were conducted on three full-scale specimens.

Jet Dynamics of Co-Axial Dual Compressible Jets for Different Exit Velocity Ratios
International Review of Mechanical Engineering (IREME), 2014The flow characteristics of jets emerging from a dual co-axial nozzle are investigated using Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes calculations. The development of double shear layer from a dual compressible jet is compared with three exit velocity ratios, keeping a constant value for core exit velocity.

Effect of axial compression ratio on dynamic mechanical properties of RC beam–column joints
Magazine of Concrete Research, 2014The dynamic mechanical properties of 15 interior beam–column joint specimens subjected to various axial compression ratios are studied. Failure patterns of beam–column joints and development of cracks are predicted by a softened strut-and-tie model and binomial logistic regression model.
