Axial compression ratio limit for self‐centering precast segmental hollow piers

Structural Concrete, 2017
Axial compression ratio limit was investigated for self‐centering precast segmental hollow piers based on post‐earthquake residual axial loading capacity. The analytical method of unbonded posttensioning tendons (PT) stress increment and the simplified method of compression zone height were developed and validated by the finite element model verified ...

Ductility design of RC columns. Part 1: consideration of axial compression ratio

HKIE Transactions, 2016
ABSTRACTTo evaluate and quantify the effect of the axial compression ratio (ACR) on the seismic performance of reinforced concrete (RC) columns, studies of analytical relationships between the axial compression and the mechanical behaviour of RC columns were conducted, followed by a comprehensive statistical analysis with 474 sets of experimental data.

Axial Compression Ratio Limits of HSC Columns Confined with High-Strength Stirrups

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
A total of 10 high-strength concrete columns confined by high-strength complex stirrups were tested under cyclic lateral force and a higher constant axial loading. The results indicate that the hysteresis loop of this type of columns still shows plump spindle-shaped at higher axial compression ratio, with better ductility, energy dissipation capability

Analyses of axial compression ratio of walls in Unreinforced Masonry Structures

2011 International Conference on Electric Technology and Civil Engineering (ICETCE), 2011
Axial compression ratio of Walls in Unreinforced Masonry Structures is studied based on a 7-story concrete small block building and a 7-story common brick building with FEM. Factors that influence the axial compression ratio are analyzed. The axial compression ratio of walls in unreinforced masonry structures is compared with that of walls in concrete ...

Axial compression ratio limit values for steel reinforced concrete (SRC) special shaped columns

Steel and Composite Structures, 2016
This paper presents the results of experimental investigation, numerical calculation and theoretical analysis on axial compression ratio limit values for steel reinforced concrete (SRC) special shaped columns. 17 specimens were firstly intensively carried out to investigate the hysteretic behavior of SRC special shaped columns subjected to a constant ...

Ratio of cube strength to axial compressive strength of rocks

Soviet Mining Science, 1978
1. For salt rocks of the Starobinsk potash salt deposit a hyperbolic relation exists between the compressive strengths and h/d, determined by the equation $$\sigma = 124.6 + \frac{{178.2}}{{h/d}},kgf/cm^2 .$$ 2. The ratio between the axial compressive strength (h/d≥2) and the cube strength (h/d=1) was as follows: for salt rock 0 ...

Effect of axial compression ratio on concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall

Advances in Structural Engineering, 2018
This study proposes a new type of shear wall, namely, the concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall, for high performance seismic force resisting structures. In order to study the seismic behavior of concrete-filled steel tube composite shear wall, cyclic loading tests were conducted on three full-scale specimens.

Frame Column of the Limit Value of Axial Compression Ratio of

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
In the current specification of the pressure ratio limit requirement is not specific, not fully consider the impact of seismic design of frame column ductility of other factors. According to the influencing factors of column ductility analysis, reached standard of axial pressure ratio limit values in most cases are conservative, may be appropriate to ...

Discussion on Limit Values of Axial Compression Ratio of Steel Reinforced Concrete Columns

Civil Engineering and Urban Planning 2012, 2012
Through the experimental test, influences of axial compression ratio on seismic ductility of SRC columns are analyzed. The limit values of axial compression ratio of the columns are obtained, corresponding to different stirrup ratios at a certain level of displacement ductility.
