Gradient Index Optical Systems, 1994Several F/3 single element axial gradient index lenses with a focal length of 75 mm have been fabricated and tested with emphasis being on performance and repeatability. The lens material was made via a fusion/diffusion process. This paper discusses the results of this endeavor.

Development of the Axial Splitting Process for Small Diameter Brass Tubes
Materials Science Forum, 2016We developed the equipment for splitting the long and small diameter tube, with using a splitting tool which was previously developed [1]. The splitting target is brass tube. Its length is about 500mm and the diameter is about 19mm. Because of the high aspect ratio, it is considered to cause a buckling easily.
