Axial diffusion effect on concentration dispersion
Abstract This work presents an analytical attempt to illustrate the effect of axial diffusion on concentration dispersion in packed tube flows. The concentration moment method is applied to derive the analytical solution for time-dependent Taylor dispersion coefficient.

DEM investigation of the axial dispersion behavior of a binary mixture in the rotating drum
The granular motion of binary-size mixture in a three-dimensional rotating drum operating in the rolling regime is numerically tracked via the discrete element method (DEM), with a focus on the axial dispersion behavior of the different particle types in

Three-dimensional axial dispersion dynamics of granular flow in the rolling-regime rotating drum
The dispersion characteristics of the granular material frequently encountered in many chemical industries play an important role in the system operation since it is related to the solid residence time, and thus further influence the heat and mass ...

Axial dispersion in respiratory bronchioles and alveolar ducts
The mixing of gases in the pulmonary acinus was characterized by analyzing axial gas dispersion during steady flow in models of respiratory bronchioles and alveolar ducts. An analysis (method of moments) developed for addressing dispersion in porous media was used to derive an integral expression for the axial dispersion coefficient (D*).

Taming axial dispersion in hydrodynamic chromatography columns through wall patterning
A well-known limitation of hydrodynamic chromatography arises from the synergistic interaction between transverse diffusion and streamwise convection, which enhances axial dispersion through the Taylor-Aris mechanism.
