Investigation of Factors Influencing Dispersion of Liquid Hydrocarbons in Porous Media

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2016
An experimental work has been done to study the major factors that affect the axial dispersion of some hydrocarbons during liquid-liquid miscible displacement.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Liquid-Phase Back mixing in Bubble Columns

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2013
Liquid-phase axial dispersion coefficients have been measured for air-water system in bubble columns of 10, 15 and 30 cm diameter. The experiments are carried out using a transient method (the tracer response method).

Axial dispersion of the liquid phase in a three-phase Karr reciprocating plate column [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2004
The influence of the gas flow rate and vibration intensity in the presence of the solid phase (polypropylene spheres) on axial mixing of the liquid phase in a three phase (gas-liquid-solid) Karr reciprocating plate column (RPC) was investigated. Assuming

Computational Fluid Dynamics Simulations of Gas-Phase Radial Dispersion in Fixed Beds with Wall Effects

open access: yesFluids, 2017
The effective medium approach to radial fixed bed dispersion models, in which radial dispersion of mass is superimposed on axial plug flow, is based on a constant effective dispersion coefficient, DT.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Gas Holdup and Liquid-Phase Dispersion in Packed Bubble Columns

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2013
The gas holdup and liquid phase axial dispersion coefficient are measured in two semi batch packed bubble columns, 10 and 15 cm diameter for an air–water system, at atmospheric conditions.

Significance of axial heat dispersion for the description of heat transport in wall-cooled packed beds [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
two-dimensional pseudo-homogeneous model with axial dispersion of heat has been solved numerically with different boundary conditions at the inlet and outlet of the packed bed.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.
