Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Influence of design parameters on the global performances of low-speed counter-rotating axial-flow fans [PDF]
The present work aims at experimentally investigating the effects of some parameters on the performances of a counter-rotating stage, and on the instationary flow between the rotors.

Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Instrumentation and axial load testing of displacement piles
Despite the fact that results of many instrumented pile load tests have been reported in the literature, it is difficult to find well-documented instrumentation procedures that can be used when planning a load testing programme. A load test programme designed to investigate various aspects of the design and behaviour of driven steel piles is discussed ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Finite elements for modeling of localized failure in reinforced concrete [PDF]
In this work, several beam finite element formulations are proposed for failure analysis of planar reinforced concrete beams and frames under monotonic static loading.

The axial behaviour of displacement piles in chalk
Current axial capacity design methods for piles driven in chalk are known to be unreliable, in particular where low-medium density material is encountered. The primary complexities associated with using driven pre-formed displacement piles to withstand predominantly axial loading include (i) determining their installation resistance (ii) assessing pile

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

GEM-TN-94-607 A Simple Technique for Measuring
A method is described for determining axial displacement along a stretched wire by driving both ends of a resistive wire as a bi-directional voltage divider and measuring the local signal balance with a capacitive pickup.
