Experimental study on mechanical properties and failure mechanisms of coated fabrics with different welding lengths

open access: yesJournal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics
Node design is the most important aspect in membrane structure design, and an appropriate welding length is a prerequisite to ensure the reasonable stress distribution of the membrane structures.

Effect of 0.01% atropine combined with orthokeratology lens on axial elongation: a 2-year randomized, double-masked, placebo-controlled, cross-over trial

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
PurposeTo evaluate the effect of 0.01% atropine combined with orthokeratology (OK) lens on axial elongation in schoolchildren with myopia.MethodsSixty children aged 8–12 years with spherical equivalent refraction (SER) from -1.00D to -4.00D in both eyes ...

Embedded Ferroelectric Nanoclusters Can Drive Polarization Reversal in a Non‐Ferroelectric Polar Film via the Proximity Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nanoclusters create local internal fields in a normally non‐switchable polar film because of polarization mismatch at their interfaces. That field opposes polarization in the regions with larger polarization and reinforces polarization in the regions with smaller polarization.

Dual-surface aberration-increasing lenses versus single-vision lenses in non-myopic children: a randomized clinical trial

open access: yesEye and Vision
Purpose To investigate the 1-year preventive efficacy of dual-surface aberration-increasing (DSAI) lenses on axial elongation and refractive change in non-myopic children. Methods This was a 2-year randomized, controlled, prospective trial with a planned

Significant ocular residual astigmatism reduces the effect of orthokeratology lenses in controlling myopia

open access: yesScientific Reports
To investigate the influence of ocular residual astigmatism (ORA) on the therapeutic outcomes of orthokeratology lenses in pediatric myopia management. In this retrospective cohort study, 60 myopic children aged 7–12 years were classified into high-ORA (≥

Semiconducting Polymers Post‐Functionalized With Ureido‐Pyrimidinone for Robust Stretchable Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The design of intrinsically robust stretchable semiconducting polymers was achieved through OTBS‐mediated post‐functionalization of PDPP2T side chains with UPy units, generating dual hydrogen‐bonding motifs comprising weaker urethane linkages and strong quadruple UPy interactions along the long alkyl side chain, which is crucial for achieving desirable

Two‐Photon Grayscale Lithography (2GL) of High Mechanical and Optical Quality 3D Silica Glass Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two‐photon grayscale lithography (2GL) enables high‐speed and precise 3D printing of thermolyzed silica glass microstructures with optical‐grade surface quality, high quality factors, and mechanical strength utilizing a custom‐made pre‐glass resist based on polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) modified with a high‐sensitivity Norrish type II ...

Efficacy and safety of orthokeratology sequentially combined with escalating atropine concentrations for myopia control in children

open access: yesScientific Reports
To evaluate the concentration-dependent efficacy and safety of sequential orthokeratology (Ortho-K) combined with atropine eye drops (0.01%, 0.025%, 0.05%) for controlling axial elongation in children with progressive myopia, and to characterize clinical
