Axial magnetic field contacts with nonuniform distributed axial magnetic fields

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2003
It is well known that axial magnetic fields (AMFs) can keep vacuum arc in diffuse mode at high current. According to our recent research and other published papers, it has been found that vacuum arc can be maintained in high-current diffuse mode at much higher current if nonuniform AMF is applied, that the axial magnetic field is higher at contact ...

Axial magnetic field produced by axially and radially magnetized permanent rings

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2004
Axial magnetic fields produced by axially and radially magnetized permanent magnet rings were studied. First, the axial magnetic field produced by a current loop is introduced, from which the axial field generated by an infinitely thin solenoid and by an infinitely thin current disk can be derived.

Analysis of Axial Magnetic Field Characteristics of Coil Type Axial Magnetic Field Vacuum Interrupters

2006 International Symposium on Discharges and Electrical Insulation in Vacuum, 2006
Axial magnetic field (AMF) characteristics of coil type AMF vacuum interrupters are analyzed by 3D finite element method. Seven contact parameters are taken into account in this paper. Analysis results show that: (1) Axial magnetic flux density decreases with increase of contact diameter, coil height, and gap distance.

Comparison of Axial Magnetic Field Characteristics of Four Axial Magnetic Field Vacuum Interrupter Contacts

2006 International Symposium on Discharges and Electrical Insulation in Vacuum, 2006
Magnetic Characteristics of axial magnetic field (AMF) of four kinds of vacuum interrupter contacts are studied with 3D finite element method, which included axial magnetic flux density, eddy current in contact plates and phase shift time between AMF and source current. Four AMF vacuum interrupter contacts are studied, which include coil type, cup type,

Synchronous control of magnetic particles and magnetized cells in a tri-axial magnetic field

Lab on a Chip, 2021
Single magnetic particles and magnetized cells are transported on-chip using a TI magnetic pattern. The tri-axial external magnetic field provides the driving force for manipulating all the particles simultaneously.

Axially Symmetric Gauge Fields of Magnetic Monopoles

Progress of Theoretical Physics, 1983
Summary: A Weyl solution is presented for axially symmetric gauge fields of magnetic monopole sources. We give a motivation and a scheme of research for working in the solutions of coupled Einstein-Yang-Mills systems.

Triggered Vacuum Switch With an Axial Magnetic Field

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2012
Triggered vacuum switches (TVSs) are widely used in pulse power and pulse technologies due to their high switching capacities. high-current TVSs have been developed for switching current in ac networks with frequency from 50 to 100 Hz. The new TVS has a disk electrode system that forms an axial magnetic field by current flow through the electrode ...
