A high-performance axial-field magnetic gear
Journal of Applied Physics, 2006The paper describes an axial-field topology of magnetic gear, which is particularly suitable for applications which require a hermetic isolation between the input and output shafts, such as pumps for use in the chemical/pharmaceutical, food, and aerospace industries.

Transient Analysis of an Axial Flux Magnetic Gear
2020 28th Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE), 2020Magnetic gear has been proposed as a means of torque transmission system considering gear ratio, while avoiding disadvantages associated with transferring torque through mechanical counterparts. Considering the transient performance characteristics is one of the important steps in the design of magnetic gears.

An axial flux magnetically geared permanent magnet wind generator
IEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2015This paper presents the design, construction, and experimental performance evaluation of an axial flux magnetically geared permanent magnet (MGPM) machine for wind power application. The optimum electromagnetic design for both magnetically coupled and decoupled configurations is described.

Study of an Axial-Flux Modulated Superconducting Magnetic Gear
IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2018An axial-flux modulated superconducting magnetic gear (AFMSMG) is specifically studied using superconducting bulk magnets (SBM) instead of permanent magnets. A mathematical modelling of the SBM as the magnetic field source is built from the point of the physical superconducting mechanism.

Performance Evaluation of an Axial-Type Magnetic-Geared Motor
IEEJ Transactions on Industry Applications, 2014SUMMARYThis paper first proposes an axial‐type magnetic‐geared motor that uses permanent magnets only in the high‐speed rotor. The operating principle of this motor is described and the torque–speed characteristics are computed by using three‐dimensional finite element method analysis.

Torque Prediction of Magnetic Gear considering 3D Axial Leakage Flux by Equivalent Magnetic Circuit
2022 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, Asia-Pacific (ITEC Asia-Pacific), 2022Since magnetic gears (MGs) can transmit torque without physical contact, which can allow low vibration and noise, and easy maintenance, it has the potential to replace reduction gears in electrical vehicles.
