Design of a new-concept conical positive displacement slurry pump for continuous de-clogging [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
Slurry pumps are extensively used in the construction industry while positive displacement screw pumps are used in most mobile concrete pump applications. The aggregate size is known to significantly affect pump performance in terms of clogging.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Influence of Guide Vane Slope on Axial-Flow Hydraulic Performance and Internal Flow Characteristics

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
To comprehensively study the influence of the guide vane inlet slope on the axial-flow pump, eight groups of axial-flow pumps with different guide vane inlet slopes are designed and studied in this paper.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Investigation of the hydrodynamic characteristics of an axial flow pump system under special utilization conditions

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
In actual operation, axial flow pump stations are often used for various special purposes to meet changing needs. However, because the hydrodynamic characteristics of axial flow pump systems are still unclear when used for special purposes, there are ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Cavitation in an Axial Piston Pump

open access: yesBulletin of JSME, 1983
In an axial piston pump made of acrylic resin, cavitation is observed by the naked eye with a strobo-scope and by high speed photography, and the pressure changes in the cylinder are measured. The cavitation is classified into the following two groups ; one, related to the trapping phenomenon, can be prevented by a suitable design of valve plates ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Numerical analysis of pressure fluctuation characteristics of axial flow pump device of edge pump unit in multi-unit pumping station

open access: yesAIP Advances
Asymmetric layout gate station projects are prevalent in gate station engineering. When multiple pump units operate within such projects, the inflow patterns of the pump devices at different stations exhibit significant variations.

Design Method for Low Specific Speed Axial Flow Pump for High-Speed Undersea Vehicles

open access: yes水下无人系统学报
For the axial flow pumps water-jet propulsion system of undersea vehicles, the high specific speed axial flow pump designed by the lift method fails to work under shallow water and high-speed conditions at present.
