Safety and efficacy of a modified axillary vein technique for pacemaker implantation

open access: yesCardiology Plus, 2018
Context: Axillary vein puncture is an alternative method for pacemaker leads implantation. However, the safety and effectiveness of axillary vein puncture become an issue for debate now.

Possible Nerve Injuries in the Axillary Approach to Breast Augmentation Surgery

open access: yes, 2001
The axillary approach to breast augmentation is used because of the hidden scar that is produced high in the axilla. There is, however, the possibility of neurologic injury because of the proximity of both motor and sensory nerves in the region of the ...

Targeted Perturbation of Mitochondrial Energy Metabolism via Thermoelectric Nanoflowers for Enhanced Cuproptosis Echoed With Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We fabricated a thermoelectric nanomedicine to disrupt the ATP energy supply for the copper transporter ATP7B, thereby enhancing cuproptosis and achieving synergistic immunotherapy for anti‐tumor purposes. The fabricated TBCT NFs can efficiently disrupt the electron transport chain function via superoxide‐induced NADH oxidation, leading to ATP ...

NSUN3‐Associated m5C Modification of tRF5‐GlyTCC Suppresses Colorectal Cancer Progression via RPL23‐Linked Nucleolar Stress and p53‐Associated Autophagy and Enhances 5‐FU Sensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies that NSUN3‐mediated m5C modification stabilizes tRF5‐GlyTCC, linking ribosomal homeostasis, nucleolar stress responses, and p53 signaling changes. This regulatory axis suppresses colorectal cancer and enhances chemotherapy response to 5‐FU, positioning tRF5‐GlyTCC as a potential therapeutic target for improving drug sensitivity in

Long‐term prognosis is associated with residual disease after neoadjuvant systemic therapy but not with initial nodal status

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), EarlyView., 2020
This long‐term follow‐up study determined survival rates in a Swedish national cohort of 417 patients with breast cancer who all had neoadjuvant systemic therapy (NAST). Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) was performed before NAST in clinically node‐negative and after NAST in clinically node‐positive patients.

The VCPIP1‐UBE3A Deubiquitination‐Ubiquitination Cascade Contributes to Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
VCIPIP1 emerges as a molecular link between protein stability and prostate cancer progression. By deubiquitinating and stabilizing UBE3A, VCIPIP1 promotes p53 degradation and progression to castration‐resistant prostate cancer. Elevated VCIPIP1 expression is associated with shorter castration‐resistant prostate cancer–free survival, highlighting the ...

The clinical application of A new DSA-Guided axillary vein puncture technique for venous infusion port

open access: yesClinical Surgical Oncology
Objective: To explore the feasibility of a new guidance method for axillary vein puncture, a totally implantable venous access port (TIVAP) was implanted via axillary vein puncture guided by a 30-degree contralateral oblique view of digital subtraction ...

CircFAM65A/CANX Condensates Sequester FAM134B to Inhibit ER‐phagy and Suppress Hepatocellular Carcinoma Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The novel circRNA circFAM65A suppresses HCC progression. Mechanistically, circFAM65A drives CANX phase separation, which recruits FAM134B into condensates and blocks its interaction with LC3, thereby inhibiting ER‐phagy and HCC progression. Importantly, targeted circFAM65A delivery represents a potential therapeutic strategy for HCC.

Radical Resection of the Third Portion of the Duodenum for Secondary Aortoduodenal Fistula

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Secondary aortoduodenal fistula most commonly involves the third portion of the duodenum and requires definitive management of both vascular and gastrointestinal components. We demonstrate a step‐by‐step technique for radical duodenal resection and reconstruction performed in structured collaboration with cardiovascular surgeons.
