Nonextensive Entropies derived from Form Invariance of Pseudoadditivity

open access: yes, 2002
The form invariance of pseudoadditivity is shown to determine the structure of nonextensive entropies. Nonextensive entropy is defined as the appropriate expectation value of nonextensive information content, similar to the definition of Shannon entropy.

Quantifying functionally equivalent species and ecological network dissimilarity with optimal transport distances

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 2, Page 301-321, February 2026.
Abstract Quantifying the structure and dynamics of species interactions in ecological communities is fundamental to studying ecology and evolution. While there are numerous approaches to analysing ecological networks, there is not yet an approach that can (1) quantify dissimilarity in the global structure of ecological networks that range from ...

A Geometrical Characterization of the Twin Paradox and its Variants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The aim of this paper is to provide a logic-based conceptual analysis of the twin paradox (TwP) theorem within a first-order logic framework. A geometrical characterization of TwP and its variants is given.

The Multi‐BMBY Mechanism: Proportionality‐Preserving and Strategyproof Ownership Restructuring in Private Companies

open access: yesJournal of Economics &Management Strategy, Volume 35, Issue 1, Page 50-58, Spring 2026.
ABSTRACT For privately held startups, restructuring ownership is challenging due to diverse and uncertain valuations among owners. Traditional approaches, including the BMBY mechanism for equal partnerships, fail to address the complexities of multi‐owner settings and do not elicit true valuations.

Portfolio Optimization for Pension Purposes: Literature Review

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 40, Issue 1, Page 45-72, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This systematic review identifies persistent challenges and gaps in the literature on pension portfolio optimization models. We searched, selected, and critically analyzed 82 articles from three major academic databases published over the past decade to investigate the barriers to the effective implementation of these models.

Models in Decision‐Making Under Risk and Uncertainty

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 40, Issue 1, Page 304-320, February 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper systematically compares dominant frameworks for modeling decision‐making under risk and uncertainty, evaluating their theoretical trade‐offs and practical relevance for economic research. We establish key criteria for model selection—including predictive accuracy, descriptive realism, computational tractability, and ecological ...

Narrow Framing in Risk Aversion Experiments: Further Evidence From a Wide Replication

open access: yesJournal of Applied Econometrics, Volume 41, Issue 1, Page 127-133, January/February 2026.
ABSTRACT When evaluating risky options in experimental settings, do individuals integrate background finances with experimental earnings? An existing study, which combines experimental data on lottery choices and administrative data on personal wealth in Denmark, shows that individuals evaluate experimental payoffs in isolation.

Upper Comonotonicity and Risk Aggregation Under Dependence Uncertainty

open access: yesMathematical Finance, Volume 36, Issue 1, Page 118-139, January 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we study dependence uncertainty and the resulting effects on tail risk measures, which play a fundamental role in modern risk management. We introduce the notion of a regular dependence measure, defined on multimarginal couplings, as a generalization of well‐known correlation statistics such as the Pearson correlation. The first

From Prediction to Prevention: Using Text Mining and Explainable Machine Learning for Urban Bus Accident Analytics

open access: yesRisk Analysis, Volume 46, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Urban bus accidents present major safety and operational challenges, particularly in densely populated metropolitan areas. This study develops a machine learning‐based analytical framework to identify, quantify, and interpret the factors associated with severe bus accidents.

New Class of Generalized Extensive Entropies for Studying Dynamical Systems in Highly Anisotropic Phase Space

open access: yes, 2013
Starting from the geometrical interpretation of the R\'enyi entropy, we introduce further extensive generalizations and study their properties.
