A novel joint depth sensor calibration method without fixture for mobile robots’ navigation
This article proposes a novel joint depth sensor calibration method without fixture for commercial robots, that can be deployed on low‐cost embedded computing units. The robot is placed in the center of three upright thin plates perpendicular to the ground. A 2D LiDAR depicts high‐precision contours of the upright thin plates.

Comparative Study of Algorithms for the Conversion From Surface Mesh Models to Volume Mesh Models
The study delves into the performance of different algorithms in the process of converting surface mesh models (SMMs) into volume mesh models (VMMs) required for finite element analysis. The experiment compared the Initial mesh, Delaunay, Frontal, and HXT algorithms, analyzing their central processing unit (CPU) runtime, node count, element count, and ...

God’s eye view: on axonometric projection
As Nelson Goodman dryly observed in the early 1960s, the physical constraints of the camera make it unsuited for capturing the world in Albertian perspective—vertical lines converge, and angles of intersection are distorted by the lens.
