Oscillatory structure–property correlation in azelate polyols and thermoplastic polyurethanes
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2018ABSTRACTAzelate polyols of 2000 g mol−1 have been successfully prepared via esterification of renewable azelaic acid with linear diols containing different number of CH2 repeating units. Structure–property correlation of the azelate polyols had been evaluated in thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs).

Chronic oral toxicity studies of di-n-hexyl azelate in rats and dogs
Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1962Abstract Groups comprising 35 male and 35 female rats were maintained for two years on diets containing O (control groups), 0.1, 0.5, and 15% DnHA. Growth was retarded in the groups given the 15% diets, otherwise all groups grew normally. Food consumptions were normal.

Phenolic profiling and antioxidant capacity of Calligonum azel Maire, a Tunisian desert plant
Food Research International, 2017The comprehensive phenolic fingerprint of Calligonum azel Maire plant fractions, collected from the Tunisian Desert, have been assessed for the first time as a source of natural antioxidants. Total phenolic content (TPC), Trolox Equivalent Antioxidant Capacity (TEAC) in scavenging DPPH, ABTS+ and Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) were determined.

Multiscale Porosity from Thermoreversible Poly(vinylidene fluoride) Gels in Diethyl Azelate
Macromolecular Symposia, 2005AbstractPoly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVF2) produces thermoreversible gels in a series of diesters. The polymer‐solvent complexation occurred for intermittent number of carbon atoms n ⩾ 2 and the enthalpy of complexation increased with increasing n. The gels were dried by replacing the diesters with low boiling solvent like cyclohexane (bp.

Synthesis, characterization and properties of a bio-based poly(glycerol azelate) polyester
Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2016Abstract The bio-based poly(glycerol azelate) (PGAz) polyester was synthesized by catalyst-free polycondensation. Increasing the azelaic acid: glycerol molar ratio in the preparation of the prepolymer from 1.0:1.0 to 1.6:1.0 or increasing the curing time of the PGAz sheets from 24 to 48 h both resulted in an increased level of branching and ...

Statistical categorization geochemical modeling of groundwater in Ain Azel plain (Algeria)
Journal of African Earth Sciences, 2011Abstract Water analysis data of 54 groundwater samples from 18 uniformly distributed wells were collected during three campaigns (June, September and December 2004). Q-mode hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) was employed for partitioning the water samples into hydrochemical facies. Interpretation of analytical data showed that the abundance of major

AbstractThe uptake and distribution of azelate ions on the surface of mild steel, inhibited in solutions of sodium azelate over the pH range of 5 to 7, has been studied by means of radio-tracer techniques. It has been shown that azelate ions become firmly bound to the inhibited surface and that the extent of uptake is dependent on solution pH, being ...

Water–rock interaction and geochemistry of groundwater from the Ain Azel aquifer, Algeria
Environmental Geochemistry and Health, 2011Hydrochemical, multivariate statistical, and inverse geochemical modeling techniques were used to investigate the hydrochemical evolution within the Ain Azel aquifer, Algeria. Cluster analysis based on major ion contents defined 3 main chemical water types, reflecting different hydrochemical processes.

Preparation and thermal behavior of random poly(butylene terephthalate/azelate) copolyesters
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1999Poly(butylene terephthalate), poly(butylene azelate), and poly(butylene terephthalate/butylene azelate) random copolymers of various compositions were synthesized in bulk using the well-known two-stage polycondensation procedure, and characterized in terms of chemical structure and molecular weight.
