Atropoisomerism in Phosphepines and Azepines

Free energy barriers to biaryl tropoinversion in metal complexes with tropos phosphepine and azepine ligands were determined by temperature-dependent (31)P NMR inversion-transfer experiments and line shape analysis of the temperature-dependent (1)H NMR spectra, respectively.

Durch UV-Bestrahlung einer Losung von Azido-carbonsäureäthylester in Benzol erhielten wir in ca. 70-proz. Ausbeute das N-Carbäthoxy-azepin (2) als bestandiges gelbes Öl vom Kp₂₀ = 130°C (λmax 208 (4,44), 330 (2,72) mμ (log ε) in n-Hexan).
