Metasurface‐Enabled Active‐Like Passive Radar
A programmable space‐time‐coding metasurface embeds distinct spatiotemporal tags into ambient wireless signals, allowing passive radar to operate in an active‐like manner. By enabling code‐correlated reconstruction under interference, the approach supports robust real‐time UAV tracking in complex environments and points to intelligent, low‐power ...

Experimental determination of position-estimate accuracy using back-azimuth signals from a microwave landing system [PDF]
Flight tests using the Boeing 737 airplane to obtain position estimates with back azimuth signals from a microwave landing system (MLS) are discussed. The equations and logic used to generate a navigation position estimate in the MLS back azimuth signal ...

Compact Tabletop Magnetic Resonance Elastography for Mapping Soft Tissue Viscoelasticity
This work introduces a compact, low‐cost tabletop magnetic resonance elastography platform for high‐resolution viscoelastic mapping in soft‐tissue specimens. Using this method in human colorectal liver metastases, we demonstrate fully automated biomechanical profiling of treatment response and show that heterogeneity‐based metrics outperform ...

Neuromorphic Near‐Sensor and In‐Sensor Computing Enabled by Next‐Generation Material‐Based Sensors
This Review presents a structural framework that classifies neuromorphic sensing into near‐sensor and in‐sensor architectures, clarifying physical coupling between sensing and computation. The framework connects neural and synaptic device functions with recent advances in optical, mechanical, and chemical sensing, compares energy consumption and ...

Extrinsic and Intrinsic Charge Transfer at Interfaces of Membrane‐Based Oxide Heterostructures
Freestanding oxides have emerged as a new opportunity to tailor oxides outside of the typical epitaxial constraints. We present the fabrication of TiO2‐terminated SrTiO3 membranes via direct growth control. We demonstrate competing ionic and electronic charge transfer in LaAlO3/SrTiO3 bilayers using near ambient pressure XPS.

A compact, nonporous, and highly crystalline layered inorganic precursor formed by thermal evaporation inherently restricts its conversion into the halide perovskite phase during vapor‐assisted hybrid two‐step deposition. Introducing localized heterogeneous nucleation sites during vapor deposition enables deliberate modulation of the inorganic layer's ...

Error analysis and corrections to pupil diameter measurements with Langley Research Center's oculometer [PDF]
Factors that can affect oculometer measurements of pupil diameter are: horizontal (azimuth) and vertical (elevation) viewing angle of the pilot; refraction of the eye and cornea; changes in distance of eye to camera; illumination intensity of light on ...

Lattice Coherency‐Driven (111)‐Oriented Wide Bandgap Perovskite Films
Methylammonium lead chloride (MAPbCl3)‐derived seed templates regulate wide‐bandgap perovskite crystallization through coupled thermodynamic and kinetic effects. Lattice‐coherent templating lowers the energy cost for (111) epilayer growth, while growth retardation controls crystallization kinetics, ultimately producing highly crystalline face‐up (111 ...
