Probing top charged-Higgs production using top polarization at the Large Hadron Collider [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We study single top production in association with a charged Higgs in the type II two Higgs doublet model at the Large Hadron Collider. The polarization of the top, reflected in the angular distributions of its decay products, can be a sensitive probe of

Color Routing and Beam Steering of Single‐Molecule Emission with a Spherical Silicon Nanoantenna

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We experimentally demonstrate broadband directional emission from single molecules using a single spherical silicon nanoparticle assembled via DNA origami. By varying nanoparticle (NP) size and emitter position, we achieve unidirectional emission, beam steering, and color routing at the nanoscale, revealing modal interference as the underlying ...

Generation and measurement of gamma rays with axially symmetric polarization states via Compton scattering

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Highly polarized gamma rays with linear or circular polarization are essential light sources for nuclear and particle physics experiments, astronomical detector evaluations, and relativistic electron beam diagnostics.

High-power thin-disk lasers emitting beams with axially-symmetric polarizations

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2021
We present the intracavity generation of beams with radial polarization at an average output power of 750 W and an optical efficiency of 43% from a continuous wave thin-disk laser. Circular grating waveguide output couplers (GWOC) were used to select the

Comparative study of different scattering geometries for the proposed Indian X-ray polarization measurement experiment using Geant4

open access: yes, 2010
Polarization measurements in X-rays can provide unique opportunity to study the behavior of matter and radiation under extreme magnetic fields and extreme gravitational fields. Unfortunately, over past two decades, when X-ray astronomy witnessed multiple

Generation and subwavelength focusing of longitudinal magnetic fields in a metallized fiber tip [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We demonstrate experimentally and numerically that in fiber tips as they are used in NSOMs azimuthally polarized electrical fields (|E$_{\text{azi}}$|$^2$/|E$_{\text{tot}}$|$^2$ $\approx$ 55% $\pm $ 5% for 1.4\mu m tip aperture diameter and \lambda$_0$ =

Critical Role of Polymer Gate Dielectrics on the Charge Carrier Transport in Perovskite Field‐Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Charge transport in 2D tin perovskite FETs is shown to be governed by dielectric interface behavior. Polar polymer dielectrics induce dipolar disorder that localizes carriers, whereas nonpolar polymers suppress trapping and enable superior charge transport, ensuring stable and reliable transistor operation. ABSTRACT Understanding the role of interfaces

Global and local polarization of Λ hyperons across RHIC-BES energies [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
We report our recent study on the global and local polarization of Λ hyperons in Au+Au collisions at RHIC-BES energies within the (3+1)- dimensional CLVisc hydrodynamics framework.

Temporally Delayed Deployment of Photo‐Responsive Liquid Crystal Polymer Networks Toward Neural Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Deployable medical devices typically need external stimuli to trigger deployment. However, external stimuli are difficult to supply within tissues. Here, we describe a strategy to deploy small‐scale structures into soft tissues after insertion without the need for any stimulus. We demonstrate deployment within a tissue phantom.
