Conversion of azurite into tenorite
Studies in Conservation, 1989Abstract In the vicinity of Berne Minster in Switzerland, 500 fragments of numerous late gothic polychromed sandstone sculptures deliberately destroyed in 1528 were recovered. A preliminary study of the painting technique and materials showed that, among other pigments, azurite had been used.

The magnetic behaviour of azurite
Physica, 1962Abstract The magnetic susceptibility of azurite has been determined in the three principal directions between 1 and 300°K. A transition to the antiferromagnetic state was observed, the Neel temperature being 1.85°K for small external fields. The variation of the transition temperature with field strength is given.

Proton magnetic resonance in azurite
Antiviral Research, 1959Abstract Proton magnetic resonance experiments have been performed in a single crystal of azurite, Cu 3 (CO 3 ) 2 (OH) 2 , in the liquid hydrogen and liquid helium temperature ranges for different field strengths and orientations. Two zero field resonance lines exist in the antiferromagnetic state.

Absorption spectra of Cu2+ in azurite
Solid State Communications, 1981Abstract EPR and optical absorption studies in azurite have been carried out at room and low temperatures. The EPR spectrum reveals that the ground state for Cu 2+ ion is 2 B 1 . Peak to peak linewidth of EPR spectrum is calculated ( ΔH p = 76 G) and found to be close with the observed value. Abstract Magnetothermal measurements on single crystal azurite [Cu 3 (CO 3 ) 2 (OH) 2 ] indicated that spin flopping occurred above 19.0 kG. The spin-flop-antiferromagnetic boundary could be represented by an equation H c = 16.5 + 1.20 T 2 with H c in kG. The triple point ( T 3 ) was determined as T = 1.60°K and H c = 19.5 kG.
