Comparison of LAAS B-Values with Linear Model Optimum B-Values

Navigation, 2000
The accuracy of the GPS Local Area Augmentation System (LAAS) is achieved by using pseudorange corrections in the LAAS ground reference system to form estimates of the signal-in-space portion of the navigation system error (NSE). The LAAS integrity monitor ensures that these pseudorange correction error do not exceed a given value.

B-valued dyadic derivative

Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences, 2007
The principles of the new maximal operator H* we defined are discussed. We prove that it is bounded from martingale Hardy-Lorentz H [0,1) to the Lorentz L

B-Valued fuzzy variable.

Soft Comput., 2008
In this paper, the concept of $${\fancyscript{B}}$$ -valued fuzzy variable is first presented. Then, some mathematical properties of $${\fancyscript{B}}$$ -valued fuzzy variable are also investigated, including independence, identical distribution, expected value, variance, inequalities, convergence concepts, and so on.

Can a b value of 500 be substituted for a b value of 1000 in the characterization of focal liver lesions?

Abdominal Imaging, 2014
Comparison of two different b values in diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI) for characterization of focal liver lesions.A total of 174 focal liver lesions from 100 patients were analyzed using two different b values (500 and 1000 s/mm(2)).

Standard-b-Value Versus Low-b-Value Diffusion-Weighted Imaging in Hepatic Lesion Discrimination

Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 2016
We sought to determine the comparative diagnostic performance of standard-b-value (500-1000s/mm) versus low-b-value (≤500 s/mm) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in the discrimination of hepatic lesions.A total of 1775 hepatic malignant lesions and 1120 benign hepatic lesions from 21 studies were included.(1) The global sensitivity was 0.86 (95 ...

The b-value as an earthquake precursor

Nature, 1981
A systematic study of b-values in New Zealand has shown that within the vicinity of forthcoming large earthquakes there is initially an increase in b and then a return to normal The Caracas and San Fernando earthquakes show the same phenomenon, which is related to that of seismic gaps.

Physical background on estimating b value

Acta Seismologica Sinica, 1997
The G-R relation lgN=a-bM (1954) is an empirical formula used widely in the seismicity research. But the linearity of b curves has great difference in different time and space domains. An interested question in this paper is that in how large a space-time-strength domain the b value has certain physical connotation.

Complexity of Hydraulic Fractures – The B-value

72nd EAGE Conference and Exhibition incorporating SPE EUROPEC 2010, 2010
The distribution of moment magnitudes for a hydraulic fracture treatment is related to the complexity of the fracture network through the slope of the frequency-magnitude distribution, known as the b-value. Characterizing this complexity relates to effective field drainage and can be used to calibrate predictions of fracture-mechanical models. As the b-

On the variation of b-values with earthquake size

Physics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors, 1994
Abstract We investigate the effect on Gutenberg and Richter's parameter b of the saturation of moment-magnitude relationships caused by source finiteness. Any conventional magnitude scale measured at a constant period features a saturation which results in a stepwise increase in the slope of the log10 moment-magnitude relationship.

B-value and Optical Fiber Lifetime

MRS Proceedings, 1998
AbstractIn this work we analyze the existing literature relating to the B-value and the inert strength measurements. The weak flaw statistic model for fiber lifetime estimation is considered with regard for the two-region crack growth.
