Apoprotein A and B values in children

European Journal of Pediatrics, 1988
Sir: Since apolipoproteins (Apo) are known to be reliable biological indices of atherogenic risk [1, 2], a transversal study was per formed to determine the values of A p o A and B in 159 hospitalised children aged 1 mon th -14 years without gastroenteric disorders or o ther diseases that could significantly modify the apoprotein profile.

A Strong Law for B-Valued Arrays

Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1995
Let \(\{X, X_{n, k}: 1\leq k\leq n, n\geq 1\}\) be an array of i.i.d. \(B\)-valued random variables, where \((B, |\cdot|)\) is real separable Banach space. Set \(S(n)= X_{n, 1}+ X_{n, 2}+\cdots+ X_{n, n}\), \(n\geq 1\), and \(\text{Log } t= \log\max\{e, t\}\), \(t\in \mathbb{R}\). The main result states that \(\{S(n)/\sqrt{2n\text{ Log } n}, n\geq 1\}\)

Comparison of LAAS B-Values with Linear Model Optimum B-Values

Navigation, 2000
The accuracy of the GPS Local Area Augmentation System (LAAS) is achieved by using pseudorange corrections in the LAAS ground reference system to form estimates of the signal-in-space portion of the navigation system error (NSE). The LAAS integrity monitor ensures that these pseudorange correction error do not exceed a given value.

Physical background on estimating b value

Acta Seismologica Sinica, 1997
The G-R relation lgN=a-bM (1954) is an empirical formula used widely in the seismicity research. But the linearity of b curves has great difference in different time and space domains. An interested question in this paper is that in how large a space-time-strength domain the b value has certain physical connotation.

Seismic b-value anomalies in the Sumatran region: Seismotectonic implications

Journal of Asian Earth Sciences, 2019
The spatial variations in the seismic b-value, seismic moment, Bouguer gravity change and fault-plane solution are estimated in the Sumatran region based on homogeneous seismicity data from June 2005 to March 2012 to investigate the seismotectonic ...

B-value and Optical Fiber Lifetime

MRS Proceedings, 1998
AbstractIn this work we analyze the existing literature relating to the B-value and the inert strength measurements. The weak flaw statistic model for fiber lifetime estimation is considered with regard for the two-region crack growth.

Fractal and seismic b-value study during dynamic roof displacements (roof fall and surface blasting) for enhancing safety in the longwall coal mines

Engineering Geology, 2019
Mining of coal has always been a very risky task from older times and, is often associated with various fatal accidents in form of rock bursts, gas outbursts, slope/bench failure.

The B-Value: A Tool for Monitoring Data

Biometrics, 1988
This paper considers the problem of monitoring slowly accruing data from a nonsequentially designed experiment. We describe the use of the B-value, which is a transformed Z-value, for the calculation of conditional power. In data monitoring, interim Z-values do not allow simple projections to the end of the study.
