Tribologische Untersuchungen mikrostrukturierter B4C-Schichten
2023In the context of the presented results, thin boron carbide coatings (B4C) are investigated concerning their potential for tribological applications. Stoichiometric B4C thin films with varying mechanical properties are deposited onto steal using pulsed laser deposition (PLD). Film thicknesses are in the range of > 1 μm. Subsequently, these partially

Microstructural development of Al2O3-B4C composite ceramics has been studied as a function of Al2O3 and B4C powder types, and also in various sintering atmospheres. Boron carbide suppresses the sinterability of Al2O3 powder, and the densification of the composite is strongly dependent on both B4C and Al2O3 properties.

Microstructures and mechanical properties of a two-layer B4C/Al–B4C/TiB2 composite
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2013Abstract A two-layer structure composite, in which one layer was B4C/Al compound and the other layer was B4C/TiB2 compound, was prepared using a two-step method for both hot pressing and infiltration of aluminum in vacuum. The experimental results showed that the two-layer B4C/Al–B4C/TiB2 composite having good interfacial bonding was prepared. Before

Characterization of Mo/B4C multilayers
Thin Solid Films, 1991Abstract The Mo/B 4 C multilayer system is selected for maximum, normal incidence reflection of 6.7 nm X-rays. Application in projection lithography requires structural optimization for smooth layering and minimal interface roughness. A transmission electron microscopy analysis of samples prepared in cross-section reveals an intrinsic layer roughness
