Ceramic composites consisting of a boron carbide (B4C) matrix and titanium diboride (TiB2) secondary phase were obtained by reactive sintering from boron carbide powder with 40 and 50wt.% of titanium dioxide (TiO2) additive. The same sintering temperature of 1850?C and pressure of 35MPa, but different sintering times from 15 to 60min, were ...

An extreme non‐equilibrium process combining heavy direct current sintering and TiSi2 addition is used to construct intragranular energy dissipation units within high‐entropy boride ceramics to overcome the strength‐toughness trade‐off. The resulting ceramic demonstrates attractive mechanical properties with a flexural strength of 887 MPa and a ...

A trace amount of boron is introduced into NbTaTi1.5V RHEA, forming a finegrained BCC+TiO+TiB microstructure. The TiB phase generates numerous dislocations, strengthening the alloy. The alloy exhibits 3610 MPa compressive fracture strength and 1060 HV microhardness, while retaining 14.8% fracture strain.

This study reveals how a zirconium‐based metal–organic framework (UiO‐66) stabilizes copper species during CO2 hydrogenation to methanol. Operando X‐ray spectroscopy, electron microscopy, and theory show that zinc promotes highly dispersed copper and suppresses particle growth, while the framework dynamically responds to reaction intermediates.
